Summary:

While on holiday in Ireland, a French film and TV Producer is found dead at her cottage in the year of 1996. This 3 episode docuseries follows the events of Sophies time in Ireland and trying to figure out who could have murdered Sophie. The investigation into Sophie’s murder slowly but surly comes a national obsession in both Ireland and France.

Thoughts:

I thought that this was interesting. I think that this was one of the first ones that I have seen where a murder happened overseas. I think that this gave insight about what happened in this case even if there are still questions that are left unanswered.

There are moments where there are closed captioning so that way if you dont speak French you know what Sophies family (Ie parents, aunt, and son) are saying throughout the docuseries.

I think that there are moments that do point to someone who points to who could have killed Sophie. And said person is still free due to the fact that both France and Ireland have different laws when it comes to trials to convince said person of murder.

Is It Worth The Watch:

I think that is up to you to decide. It doesn't go too deep into how Sophie died if you are looking for a true crime show without all the gruesome details that can come along with it.

I do not rate True Crime shows. All I try and do is bring attention to cases that people might not have heard about. I do not rate true crime shows out of respect for the family who had to deal with the pain of losing a loved one in this way.
