Summary:

This follows our main characters of Emma and Jack. Emma was on her way back home when she is joined along side Jack. They dont know that they both work for the same company at the time of meeting so Emma pours her heart to a guy she barely knows.

During the movie, Emma continues to open up to Jack when it feels like she is getting nothing in return. She is heartbroken when Jack uses what he finds out about Emma in an interview for a new product that he wants the company to start promoting for “the every day girl”.

When Jack finally tells Emma his secret and why he was in Chicago that week, Emma promises not to tell. One of Emmas friends wants to help her “get revenge” on Jack in a misunderstanding when all Emma wanted was to get closure. Jack thinks that the interview that Emmas friend set up was her way at getting back at him for telling the world about their relationship.

Things finally work out for them in the end when they are both going back to Chicago.

Thoughts:

As someone who enjoy romance, I will say that this movie was cringy. I dont mind cringe moments in romance from time to time but it felt like this movie was full of them. From beginning to end. The really only thing I found relatable in anyway shape or form were the relationships. Between Emma and her friends. Emma and her ex boyfriend. Emma and Jack.

But its hard to enjoy the movie when it can’t go 5 seconds without being cringy. I know that new relationships are meant to be cringe and still working with your ex can be awkward but it felt like this movie takes it to a whole new level.

I have seen Tyler Hoeclin’s work in the past (still enjoy him as Derek Hale in teen wolf) so I was hoping I would enjoy this movie because I know how talented this actor can be. But I can’t expect a movie to be good just because it has an actor who’s work Ive enjoyed previously is in it.

It just felt like the actors in this movie were trying their best and it didn’t come off the way a viewer would hope. I did enjoy the romance part of it. I just wished that this movie was longer so that way I could enjoy the romance and it could be fleshed out more than it was.

Would I Recommend?

I would only recommend if you like cringy romance movies. This just wasn’t it for me. I don’t know what I was expecting but it felt like this movie just didn’t live up to the relatively low bar that I was setting going into this movie.

Rating:

2.75 out of 5 stars
