Summary:

This is the third installment in the After series. Following After and After We Collided

Tessa and Hardin are at it again. This time trying to figure out if their relationship can handle it. Due to Tessa wanting to go to Seattle for her job and Hardin wanting her to stay and be with him. Which causes a big rift between the both of them to where Tessa is like “you know what I’m going. I dont care if you come with me or stay but I am doing this for me.”

So when Tessa finally arrives in Seattle, Hardin finds a notebook that Tessa leaves behind. He starts reading it and finds out that he needs to try and better himself due to how much pain that she seems to be in. Over the relationship with him. He takes up boxing and seems to have turned over a new leaf. But his jealous tendencies, that seem to make Tessa want to distance herself from him dont stay at bay for long.

There are things that they find out along the way. Like Hardins mom getting married again. But as soon as they arrive, it seems both Tessa and Hardin are given a shock when Tessa finds his mom doing it with another man in the kitchen when Hardin is checking the thermostat (I assume).

They do seem to try and make the relationship work even though there are things that still need to be worked on. And things that the other doesnt seem to know that might come and rear its ugly head in After Every Happy. Like the possible fertility issues that Tessa is dealing with when she went to the doctor to get on the pill. And the fact that Hardin has been letting Tessas alcoholic father stay at the shared space that he once shared with Tessa.

Thoughts:

I enjoyed that this didnt have as much sex in it as After We Collided. Yes there is still sex (twice in the first 30 minutes of the film) but it didnt happen repeatedly in the first half of the movie. I still wasnt a big fan of the whole sex thing but I am glad that they didnt have it take away from what they were trying to accomplish with this third film in the franchise. I am glad that it focused more on Hardin and Tessa when they werent having sex to see the relationship as it. Even when Tessa tells Hardin what she needs from him.

I am also glad that we got to see a more vulnerable side of Hardin that we didnt get to see in the first two films. Because in the first two films it seemed like Hardin cares little to none about anything and is the main reason why his relationship with Tessa isnt working. And why that relationship is toxic. I personally enjoyed seeing another side of Hardin. The one that maybe actually cares about other people. Especially the one that seems like he is loosing everything else but he cant lose Tessa on top of everything else that seems out of his control. It seems like Tessa is that main constant for Hardin through the last two movies but the viewer doesnt get to see how much he actually needs Tessa till the last like 20-30 minutes of this film when it seems like everything he ever thought he knew turns out to be a lie.

Out of all three that I have currently watched, this one has to be my favorite out of them. Yes, there are still jealous moments. Yes, there are still toxic moments. Yes, this couple seems still be toxic for each other in this film. But I still enjoyed (for the most part) what they did with After We Fell. I think the good out weighs the bad when it comes to this film in the franchise.
I just hope that they are not building up After Ever Happy to be this perfect bow for both Tessa and Hardin just for After Ever Happy just for them not to get it. Because I think that both Tessa and Hardin deserve to be happy and deserve to have that perfect ending. If not with each other than with other people that have their best interests at heart.
